I re-wrote the Java in Policy Builder to generate a random password, if
you don't want it to be 8 characters long, you can change the substring
to be whatever you want:

I found the Java example code here: 'Bright-Green.com: Generating a
random string'
(http://www.bright-green.com/blog/200...om_string.html)

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><policy
xmlns:jlong="http://www.novell.com/nxsl/java/java.lang.Long"
xmlns:jmath="http://www.novell.com/nxsl/java/java.lang.Math"
xmlns:jrandom="http://www.novell.com/nxsl/java/java.util.Random">
<rule>
<description>Random</description>
<conditions>
<and/>
</conditions>
<actions>
<do-set-local-variable name="RandomObject" scope="policy">
<arg-object>
<token-xpath expression="jrandom:new()"/>
</arg-object>
</do-set-local-variable>
<do-set-local-variable name="RandomPassword" scope="policy">
<arg-string>
<token-substring length="8">
<token-xpath
expression="jlong:toString(jmath:abs(jrandom:nextL ong($RandomObject)),
36)"/>
</token-substring>
</arg-string>
</do-set-local-variable>
</actions>
</rule>
</policy>
