We are successfully syncing users to a bunch of AIX boxes. The CN's of the
users in Novell is mixed case (SmithJ), and in AIX the usernames
automatically get lowered.

We are now trying to sync users to a SUSE machine, which does not lowercase
the names automatically.

I have tried modifying the scripts (enableuser.sh, moduser.sh, all other
scripts with TARGETUSER variable) to use a lowercase TARGETUSER local
variable. This adds the user with a lowercase name. However, the user
does not get enabled, and the password does not get set. Looking closer at
the enableuser.sh script, there are rules that catch if the user is
disabled (has a ! in the etc/passwd file). This user always catches on

Are there some other ideas on how to provide linux with a lowercase username?
