I am using Borland Delphi v5.0 Ent Update 1 on an Win XP Pro SP2
workstation, trying to access a locally-constructed Novell v6.5 LDAP Server
(accessed through VMWare Server v1.0.3).

I have installed the Novell LDAP Server using an internal IP address of
192.168.204.2 (it currently has no DNS entry), and have created in it the
following LDAP hierarchy:

o=ROOT
ou=NOVELL_TEST
ou=Edmonton
cn=Matt
cn=Tom
ou=Vernon
cn=Dan
cn=admin

The full LDAP path to the "Dan" user is
LDAP://192.168.204.2/cn=Dan,ou=Vernon,ou=NOVELL_TEST,o=ROOT

We are using the Microsoft ActiveDS library to access the tree (using the
ADsGetObject routine) successfully, and I am able to resolve the "Dan" user
to the fully distinguished name "cn=Dan,ou=Vernon,ou=NOVELL_TEST,o=ROOT".

Now, for the part that I have been hammering my head against for the last
week - how do I authenticate Dan's password?

Thank you very much,

Daniel Bragg
