I need to understand the differences between the bidirectional driver
and fan-out driver in the integration module for Linux and UNIX.

I have found 'this document'
but I would like to know the *advantages and disadvantages* of each one
in more detail (c*ases of use*, mixed options, etc).

I have read something about a third option, monodirectional (with no
agents in final system): I suppouse it's the bidirectional driver
customized to work only in one direction, but all information about this
is welcome.
