I am looking simply for a point in the right direction... if you want to
give more, superb!!

I have a
1. Web administered piece of hardware... an appliance for a security
application that maintains
2. an ODBC accessible SQL database on flash memory.
3. The system is embedded Red Hat Linux OS.

What is the most likely or best scenario for integrating this with IDM? Is
there a driver best suited? I am looking for bi-directional function data
transfer. SOAP? JDBC without any intermediate tables? Or can you install
something on an embedded Red Hat server? I hate to muck with the vendor's
OS platform and void warranties for non-standard implementation.

Thanks in advance. If you need more detail in order to respond accurately,
please let me know and I'll provide as much as possible.

Thanks,

Rob
