I am trying to rid 'app-connection error' messages of their headers. The
original message looks like this:

<nds dtdversion="2.0">
<source>
<product build="20080710_082352" instance="ANYC"
version="3.5.3">Identity Manager Driver for SOAP</product>
<contact>Novell, Inc.</contact>
</source>
<output>
<nds dtdversion="2.0">
<source>
<product build="20080710_082352" instance="ANYC"
version="3.5.3">Identity Manager Driver for SOAP</product>
<contact>Novell, Inc.</contact>
</source>
<output>
<status level="retry" type="app-connection"
value1="ConnectException">
<description>Connection refused</description>
</status>
</output>
</nds>
</output>
</nds>

But all I want is simply:

<output>
<status level="retry" type="app-connection"
value1="ConnectException">
<description>Connection refused</description>
</status>
</output>

I've attempted doing this using the following XSLT code but to no
avail:

<xsl:template match="status[@level='retry'and
@type='app-connection']">
<xsl:variable name="value1" select="string(@value1)"/>
<status>
<xsl:attribute name="level">retry</xsl:attribute>
<xsl:attribute name="type">app-connection</xsl:attribute>
<xsl:attribute name="value1">
<xsl:value-of select="$value1"/>
</xsl:attribute>
</status>
</xsl:template>

Is there something wrong with the XSLT code above causing the event not
to transform into the desired state? Is there an easier way to do this
so the header information never exisits in the first place?

Thanks
